They start feeling like making a career in the music industry is impossible, they get discouraged and then they give up. And I'm sure that I don't have to tell you that the quickest thing to kill your drive and moral is a lack of gigs or non-existent CD sales. Does this sound familiar? And then I have seen musicians without any REAL talent that sell CDs like crazy. They book gigs and grow a huge fan base in a matter of months all because they know how to market. Just look at the majority of the major acts that are played on the radio. Yeah, there are a few that have really great talent but most of these bands are just the outcome of great promotion.
